I am using WP ALL IMPORT to import locations after creating a CSV. First time the parent post would not work with just parent slug in the CSV, so then i exported CSV and played about with the parent id and uploaded again this ended up creating duplicate locations with no parent location mapping. I have included the CSV to show you. Please can you assist.
I am trying to create 4 main locations which are England, Wales, Northern Ireland & Scotland, then under these will be the counties which include;
Dumfries and Galloway
Perth and Kinross
East Riding of Yorkshire
Isle of Wight
Tyne and Wear
Then the counties will have further sub location which will be the cities contained within each county.
Please can you help me get these locations up
OR suggest an easier method of achieving this.

i have restarted this challenge and found that when i enter the post manually into wpallimport location setup page it works fine, when i use the csv import file it does not ad sub locations to the relevant parent. This is frustrating as i have just under 2000 records to add so please can you find out why the parent post id is not being picked up by the importplugin from the csv.December 9, 2019 at 12:29 am #791680
So i have managed to add England and all the sub counties and cities manually. Pheww that was exhausting. I will wait for you response, hopefully i can get subs up for Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland much easier.December 10, 2019 at 9:22 am #794100
When adding some sublocation, you should be sure your parent location is selected the country to make it work normal.
Also with the list location, you can manual create it easily. It will not take many time.

Hi I’m having the same issue, and am using WPAllimport to import my tours.
How did you get the locations/ Destinations field to map properly for the tours you imported?. I can’t match them up to the correct custom field.
I got everything else except this and faq to import.

Theme is not allowed to import data via that plugin anymore. You can try to use other plugin or default wordpress importer function.

I will take a look at the default wordpress plugin now, but I doubt it can do that.
Which plugin is it that you suggest I can use to import, that will import my events and also I can properly map csv fields to the destination custom field?

Our location structure is specially built according to our own mechanism. Not sure if other plugins can import. It may produce an error.
We encourage customers to use unsupported plugins.
You should see our guide here for the best configuration.

I can not suggest any plugins like that at the moment.
Thank for your understanding.December 16, 2019 at 8:16 pm #804390
So the way i did it was to create the parent manually on wordpress. That way i get the post ID number. Then using a CSV i will import seperately for each parent. Still long winded but it is better than manually assigning parents to each location.December 17, 2019 at 9:29 am #805160
